The Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Clerkship (Phar5283) is a three-week, 5-ECTS experiential course designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industry experience. Delivered in a blended online format, it immerses pharmacy students in the operations of a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting, covering research and development, dosage form production—including tablets, capsules, liquids, injectables, and topical formulations—quality control, regulatory compliance, and marketing.

Through a combination of virtual facility tours, webinars, hands-on simulations, shadowing of professionals, and interactive workshops, students observe Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), understand regulatory requirements, and gain practical skills in pharmaceutical production. The clerkship emphasizes documentation, reflective reporting, and presentation of learnings, fostering critical thinking, professional engagement, and an appreciation for the real-world application of pharmaceutical sciences, preparing students for careers in the pharmaceutical industry.
