Upon the completion of this course, you will be able to:

The teaching-learning methods in this course include self-directed online learning activities, face-to-face sessions, and discussions.
During the self-directed online activities, you must complete all of the given online learning activities at your own pace and within the time frame specified, as preparation for face-to-face sessions.
In the discussion forum sessions, you will have the opportunity to collaborate and learn with other students. You must participate in the discussion forum to answer the given questions and/or collaboratively solve a problem.
The face-to-face sessions are devoted to the discussion of complex concepts, questions and answers, and/or the practice of some important skills (if any).
To ensure that you get the most out of this course, you must devote at least 4 hours per week (2 hours for self-directed online activities, 1 hour for collaborative learning, and 1 hour for face-to-face sessions) for approximately 16 weeks.
At the end of the course, there will be a summative assessment to determine whether or not the learning objectives were met. This assessment consists of a written knowledge test, your participation in the discussion forum and the quality of your responses to the discussion questions, and a review of your completed and submitted work.

This online training course is prepared by the Pharma College Continuous professional development case team . The training course is designed to provide the necessary knowledge to health professionals on AMR thereby contributing to strengthening AMR prevention and containment efforts in the country. This self-paced training consists of five sessions which will take a total of 13 hrs approximately. 

Course Goal:

  • To provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and attitude on AMR to health thereby contributing to strengthening AMR prevention and containment efforts in the country.

Learning objectives:

At the end of this training course, you will be able to:

    • Discuss the global and national threat of AMR
    • Practice rational use of antimicrobials
    • Apply infection prevention and control measures
    • Promote the implementation of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program program (ASP)
    • Promote microbiologic diagnosis and surveillance for AMR
    • Discuss supply chain management of antimicrobials and Lab supplies
    • Identify the role of health professionals in AMR prevention and containment
    • Monitor and evaluate AMR-related activities

Intended Audiences:

The target group for this training course are healthcare professionals (physicians, pharmacists, nurses, health officers, lab technologists, environmental health...) and experts/officers and program managers from the ministry of health and its agencies, RHB and ZoHD/Sub city Health office, WoHO and development partners who provide technical support are target audiences of this training course.

Assessment and Certification:

  • As a formative assessment, you will complete different knowledge checks in each session which will help you to assess your understanding progressively. 
  • As a summative assessment, you will take a post-test comprising 23 questions at the end of the course.
  • A Certificate with 15 CEU points will be provided when you score>75% and above on summative assessment and attended 100% of the course.
